A Guide to Car Warranties
Like people, insurance policy is a need so does our vehicle. Insurance policy for a car is called car warranty. A car warranty comes automatically with the buying of any new cars and most used cars from the dealers, usually called the standard warranty.
Just like any form of insurance policy for human, a car warranty is an act of precaution that could save the owner to pay unexpected mechanical and or electrical breakdown costs. So when our cars breakdown our car warranty will cover the repairmen cost, or contribute to the total cost of the labour and parts replacement that already stated in the warranty policy. Like other insurance it protects you from the cost. However you should read carefully and ask explanation for the terms and agreements in the contracts to make sure that you understand why you sign.
Before taking a car warranty, it is wiser to put the following in the consideration: What is the odd that your car will break down repeatedly? Is your car is old models? Is the car warranty could cover the car’s value and the repairmens cost? Does your car have a service history? Simply put it this way. If you have an old car and doesn’t have a service history it might lead you to difficulty in claiming your warranty. The second is there is possibility that the cost of car warranty is more than the actual worth of the car. If you meet those condition car warranty may be not your thing.
In simple way, we could divide car warranties in two. A standard warranty comes automatically at the purchased of a new car and most the used cars. New cars warranty derived from the manufacturers mostly for 36 months coverage. The warranty will cover the entire parts breakdown in normal usage, but not for wear items like battery or tires. For used cars the warranty derived from the dealer mostly cover until 3 months or 3000 miles or even none.
Extended car warranty is being purchased after the original warranty expired; most manufacturer warranties can be extended for a further 2 years. The value of an extended warranty can be counted from the price and the limits of the coverage. Any items that being purchased is a good buy when offers well coverage in a reasonable cost.
